FAQ

Beginning:

Finding the right therapist is important and can sometimes be difficult. For those interested in learning more about me, how I practice and whether we may be a good fit,  I offer a free  initial  20-minute phone consultation.  If we do decide to work with one another, I will ask you to complete initial paperwork prior to our first intake session.

Cost:

While therapy can be costly, I believe it is an investment in one's quality of life.  I accept the following insurance carriers:

  • Aetna

  • All Savers

  • Harvard Pilgrim

  • Nippon

  • Oscar

  • Optum

  • Oxford Health

  • United Healthcare

  • UHC Student Resources

  • Wellfleet

For all other insurance carriers, I am an out-of-network provider, so clients will pay for their sessions up front and get reimbursed by their insurance providers on the back end.  Rates can be discussed during initial consultations, and I can offer sliding scale rates, as I strongly believe therapy should be accessible to all.

In order to determine whether your insurance carrier has out-of-network benefits and what the reimbursement rate is,  call them directly and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits?

  • What is my out of network deductible?

  • What percentage do you reimburse for outpatient individual therapy after the deductible is met?

  • How many mental health sessions per year does my plan cover?

  • So just to make sure...my therapist is charging x amount, what is the maximum I can get reimbursed?
